Religious Beliefs of Canadians: Correlational Report                                                                              3

Introduction
The information contained below relies on the Canadian Religious Views Survey
which was conducted between November 15th to the end of 2021.
The 20-question survey was predominantly shared on Facebook.com, Reddit.com and Agnostic.com among others.
In total, 1368 people participated. Of these 1214 confirmed they were Canadian citizens; it is this data which is used in the report.
It is important to note is that this survey is not demographically accurate, which is to say that the percentages given do not represent the Canadian population as we know from reliable data.
Instead, the results may be more useful to you to demonstrate how Canadians who do hold to a certain belief are more likely to hold to another belief.
For questions about the survey, this report or to request data you are welcome to email

Proposed typologies

I suggest categorizing Canadians into four groupings, generally based on beliefs held when a survey is general in nature, this could be the following:

Monotheistic wherein common beliefs are believing Jesus is the Divine Son of God, in the existence of the soul, Heaven, Hell, angels and demons. In the Canadian context, most of these people would be either Catholic or Protestant.

The second type could be Spiritualistic wherein the belief in the soul is present. However, to be categorized here a person would also have a belief in karma, nature spirits and/or ghosts.

The third type is that of an agnostic, still believing in objective morally wrong actions but usually not any other belief.

The fourth type is Atheistic where respondents deny, rather than respond that they don’t know when asked about spiritual realms or supernatural agents all or most of the time.
